Copperplate Genealogy and Heir Search serves people who need lineage done to a professional standard — and written so counsel or a court can use it.
We work for individuals and families, and we prepare research that attorneys, personal representatives, and courts can rely on when kinship is in dispute or an estate cannot be closed.
The work is document-driven: vital records, land, probate, census, church and synagogue registers, military files, and the archives that sit behind them. Charts are a byproduct. Proof is the product.
Members of the firm spent a number of years on a multi-million-dollar Native American land repatriation case. That matter required sustained archival work, careful treatment of tribal and federal records, and heir identification at a scale ordinary family research does not demand. It is the standard we use for serious probate and land projects.
What we will not do
We do not operate as a heir-hunting outfit. We do not search out prospective claimants uninvited and attach a large contingency fee to the fact of having found them. We want to help return to you what is owed, whether that is land or legacy.
